Fractalius Plugins: I reall
y enjoy taking a photo and making an artistic rendition to some or the over all photo. This plugin is called Fractalius and can be found at this site: http://www.redfieldplugins.com/filterFractalius.htm . There are not a lot of tutorials on using the plugin but just by moving the sliders and choosing different selections will deliver a totally different photo.
Mary Ann Tip of the Day: Keep a journal of the settings and give each one a name. The one I used in this photo I called Batik.
The selections I chose to achieve this look are:
Sharpness 34, Line Width 82, Radius 30, Black star.
Sharpness 67, Line Width 28, Radius 66, Diffusion 66, Black star. Brightness 8, Saturation 37, Scale -26, Type Rounded
Of course you may like to chose different ones and play to see what you like.
A few other tips: work with a smaller photo like a 5 by 7 and if you want to print larger resizing before completing. Otherwise it takes to long to process the previews. Also, you may have to flatten your work before beginning if it doesn't seem to be working. Do a save as: open new and duplicate. The plugin will be saved in the bottom of your filters in Photoshop.
Here is an example of the photo before using Fractalius and after. I hope you enjoy it.
